Keyword research is probably the most important aspect of affiliate marketing as it goes hand and hand with traffic.

Have you read my affiliate marketing power series volume 1? It has a pretty detailed account of keyword research. However, the next volume I am going to go even deeper into keyword research but to understand volume 3 you’ll need to make sure you understand the vast majority of the basics.

I have really enjoyed using Peter Drew’s tool utilizing RSS feeds for my more recent keyword research. However, I fully suggest understanding other aspects of keyword research before relying on utilizing RSS feeds.

I just started looking at blogging this weekend. I have been taking a stab at keyword research. I am not progressing well in it.

Would you have a recommendation for a detailed work on keyword research?

I just purchased Pete’s RSS Report — RSS an important topic I need to study.

It’s not that google dropped the feeds but the feeds have dropped off the top pages in feedage. Which is to be expected.

Meanwhile all 20 feeds places I placed my feeds are still in existence.

However, what I should be doing if I think “Symptoms of Dog Poisoning” is a viable niche, is to make a new “real” blog based off of those keywords.

Since it was easy to rank within an hour to the homepage of google we know it wouldn’t take a lot of backlinks to build a niche around it.

Meanwhile you’d simply resubmit your news feeds from your new blog and pick up the 20 back links.

Hopefully, that adds a little more clarity. I am using it for mainly the keyword research aspect but you still gain those extra links and all links in are good.

Great questions. I still check back links before i go after something. But, not as thoroughly since I can do keyword research and then build a small blogger blog in under 15-20 minutes.

I use 3 tools.
1. http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ word tracker.
2. http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html trellion
3. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and then the adwords tool.

All 3 help you to get a good understanding of how much volume the keywords you are going after actually get.

This tool looks really useful. I have a couple questions about it.

1) Do you still need to do link analysis regarding getting rankings? Or are there some assumptions you make based on the initial results with the tool?

2) What are you using to get data on your traffic.

Not sure exactly what you mean. I thought everyone used Paypal world wide? You don’t have to have a credit card.

As mentioned in the post the trial is for 3 days to test the software for $1. You can cancel anytime before the trial is over. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. The cool thing with this software is that it works extremely well and that’s why I did a case study on it.
