Virtual Real Estate Is a Valuable Asset
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the things we often over look in Niche Marketing is the importance of our virtual real estate or simply having that domain name.
When we buy a domain from a place like Angry Chihuahua Domains or anywhere else we haven’t just bought a domain name – we’ve bought a piece of the Internet and we own that.
The reason I am bringing this up is because I’ve had several Niche Blitzkrieg students in the past (and even myself) who’ve built a site that wasn’t pulling in the income we wanted. So instead simply keep that site that domain that we’ve invested time building back links too we simply dump the site off by allowing the domain to expire.
I suggest hanging onto them even if we are not actively building. Because each piece of the Internet we own is another piece in our portfolio and that has real value.
I learned my lesson the hard way. A few years ago i started a website that didn’t turn out like i wanted. I built a few thousand back links to the website, spent time optimizing the back links and over all invested time in this site.
The site never made the money that i was planning on it. So not really thinking about it I let the domain expire last year.
Now I look back at how stupid that actual was and here’s why: I had hundreds of articles, press releases, social sites, and it even had a good Google Page Rank.
As soon as it expired some one else of course bought this domain up. They ended up getting a domain with hundreds of back links with sites all over the Internet linking back.
They simply put up the content they wanted for this site which was just a domain squatter page. This is basically a page that have PPC ads on it and they get paid a small portion anytime someone clicks those ads. You can set this up right inside your hosting account. So for around $10/yr they got a website that has a nice PR, back links and they didn’t have to do any work. This now sites in their portfolio and at least makes their money back on it while expanding their virtual real estate.
I should have saved the domain and simply put up a squatter page if I didn’t want to use the site for anything currently. I could have also sold this and made some money with it from someone looking for a site that already had some age to it, back links even if they planned on scrapping my content.
So a lesson learned for me the hard way.
If you buy a domain and you’ve built any amount of back links to it – DO NOT let it expire. Hang onto to this as it has more value than we sometimes see in front of our faces.
How To Rank Your Website in the Search Engines
Posted by: | CommentsI get this question all the time… "How do I rank my website in the search engines?" I even get this from current members of Niche Blitzkrieg. That’s OK. I know during the learning process it can be tricky to figure out. So the idea behind this post today is to recap the key factors of getting your website ranked in the search engines. Keep in mind every page on your website ranks individually. So let’s say you have 40 pages – they all rank individually in the search engines for their keywords. This the main CRITICAL formula you’ll need to get any of your pages ranked in the search engines.
#1. On Page Optimization. Your page title needs to contain the EXACT keyword phrase you want to rank your webpage for. So let’s say you want to rank your webpage for the term How Can I Make Money Using The Internet? Then you’ll want that phrase (minus the punctuation) as the title of your webpage or to at least include it. After the title make sure the body of your content has the keyword used in it. Don’t over-do it just use your keyword phrase 1-2 times for every 300-500 words.
Bolding or underlining doesn’t hurt. If you have a keyword phrased used a few times in the body bold it one time. The search engines will place more emphasis on bolded keywords. This isn’t as relevant as it once was – but still good practice in all of my experience. Do not do this every time you use your keyword phrase – just use it sparingly.
#2. Content Matters. You’ve got to use content on your webpage. I suggest at least 250+ and I’d put as many words as possible on each page. The more content related to your subject matter on your webpage the more likely you are to be found in the search engines for terms you may not have thought of. I can’t tell you how many millions of visitors I’ve had to my websites on terms I never even thought to rank for. These happened naturally and by accident. Content matters! Don’t be in a hurry make a content rich site. I’m not saying to have 2000 words on each page, but the more the better.
#3. Backlinks – Backlinks – Backlinks – Backlinks. Did I say it enough? YOU MUST HAVE BACKLINKS! I cannot stress that enough. But, one of the things I see happen so often is that my students build these amazing websites filled with fantastic content. They even have these sites optimized and monetized correctly – but – they still ask why their sites pages are not showing up in the search engines in the top 10.
99% of the time is because of lack of backlinks. You must work on linking other pages back to your website. Use article marketing (NBK Articles Directory Rocks), press releases, social bookmarking, forums, classified ads, blog commenting and anywhere else you can put a link that leads back to your website. these backlinks are critical. The more links you have coming in the better. You must do backlink work for every single page of your site.
Those are the 3 things that will matter the most. Make sure you’re doing them and keep building your backlinks to your web pages until you’re ranking where you want to rank. Once you are ranked well and established you won’t have to link build as much and often times very little ever again.
Disturbing Facts About Free Article Directories Most People Will Never Know

I use articles for traffic and to get my websites ranked in the search engines all the time. In fact, it’s probably my favorite way to build traffic. Link building will be the life blood of your websites getting ranked in the search engines. The free article directories I use mainly for LINK BUILDING purposes only.
#1. ADS – and More Ads – The free article directories have ads all over the place. Go watch this article video I shot a few days ago about this it’s pretty bad. So because they have so many ads you’ll get a problem that I mention as bullet number 2.
#2. LOW CTR – Low click-through rate. Because there is so much page leak going on on the free article directories the majority of the visitors to your article will never even visit your site. In fact, in my experience I get under 20% of the click-throughs from traffic from the free article directories – (ouch).
#3. Not Enough Link Building – The free article directories do not build links to all of their categories. This often leads to few links coming into the categories at the directory. Sure their home pages have thousands of links coming in, but the categories do not. This means that the high page rank of just their home page won’t end up doing much for you.
#4. Distractions – Free article directories are masters of distractions. If you missed the video the first time let me show you how they are distracting the visitors away from your site.
So by watching that video you can see why I only want to use the free article directories for link building only. They are great for that.

The Dirtiest Word – Does This Apply To You
Posted by: | CommentsOf all the words that can be applied to one’s self during training, learning, growth or really just about anything is one word that should be loathed by everyone.
That word is, discouraged (discouragement).
Discouragement can derail even the smallest dreams, let alone larger ones. Once you become discouraged it’s hard to feel good about anything you’re doing and a feeling of simply giving up can overwhelm you.
Throughout history attempts to discourage have existed. Examples of this can be found in sports, warfare, politics, movements and more. In sports often teams will try to run up the score quickly as to discourage the other team from trying. Once the score gets high enough the other team can get a “why even try” feeling. In politics and political movements opponents can make the other side look as if they don’t have enough followers to even gain ground, causing a feeling of pure “impossibility”.
You see these people understand discouraging the other side so they can close a victory. So how does this apply to you? Obviously, we’re in a totally different field. We’re in the field of making money online. But, discouragement can still dismantle any chance that you have of making anything and in the rest of this article I’m going to explain why.
When you’re learning how to make money online you’re obviously doing something you haven’t tried to do before. With anything that we must learn there is always going to be growth and we shouldn’t expect to be amazing at anything right after we get started. The problem is that when a new person comes into a “make money online” system and they don’t start earning money right away they can become discouraged. Once the person is discouraged they start feeling frustrated. Frustration leads to lack of focus. Lack of focus leads to not learning correctly and growing. These feelings ultimately lead to simply giving up. Once you’ve given up there is absolutely no chance to make money, you’ve lost.
So what do you do if you start feeling discouraged. I’ll tell you what I do; take a break. I’m not talking about taking a year off or anything crazy like that. What I am referring to is to walk away for a day or at least a few hours and come back. During this time go and do something fun or something to ease your mind. Come back once you’ve settled down and pace yourself.
I still remember when I was building my very first website. I was so excited to get started and make money. However, not long into the process I got completely stuck on something and I began to get frustrated. I literally worked on this for hours and I couldn’t make the stupid thing work. Does that sound familiar? I have a hot temper and over the years I’ve learned something because of this. I’ve learned that when I am starting to become discouraged or frustrated that I have to get up and unwind for a moment. So when I hit this snag and I couldn’t make it work I simply got up from my computer chair and went for a long run. I came back a few hours later and easily found the cure to the problem that I had just spent hours fuming over. This worked because once I came back I was calm and could then think rationally again. During times of stress, anxiety, fear, displacement, anger, or discouragement our emotions cause us to overlook things and miss steps because we are not 100% focused anymore.
During this learning process you must not let yourself get discouraged. Once you become discouraged you’ll begin to miss instructions, over look details and ultimately become deeply confused. These emotions can cause you to miss out on a wonderful opportunity to make money from your home.
Anyone can make money online with the proper training, proper focus and proper mindset. But, if you let that dirty little word into your mind it can derail even the best teaching and even the strongest people. My best advice is stay positive and if you get frustrated walk away for awhile. But, no matter what you do keep the word discouragement out of your mind.
